"One and a Half Million Buttons: A tribute to the lost children of the Holocaust "
Joy Cowley was inspired by the project undertaken by the children of Moriah school and their message of diversity and acceptance. The project began back in 2008 when the children (aged 5 - 12 years) collected 1.5 million buttons to represent, and remember, the children killed in the Holocaust. This collection was handed over to the Holocaust Centre of New Zealand to further the vision of the children into a memorial. The Children's Holocaust Memorial launched November 2018. This book documents the journey from idea to full travelling exhibition.
