RIGHTEOUS AMONG THE NATIONS
Many non-Jewish people of different nationalities, religions and backgrounds demonstrated considerable personal courage and bravery in protecting and aiding the Jewish population during World War II.
These individuals are formally designated ‘Righteous Among The Nations’ – an honorific used by the State of Israel to describe non-Jews who risked their lives during the Holocaust to save Jews from extermination by the Nazis.
