Yad Vashem Seminar for Educators from New Zealand
This is a biennial trip. Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic the last cohort went in January 2019. We look forward to taking more amazing educators to Israel in the future, to engage in this indepth course of professional development and immersion into Holocaust education and more!
Many of the New Zealand educators expressed how it was a “life-changing experience” to visit Jerusalem, meet with Holocaust Survivors, see much of Israel and bring into their classrooms lessons learned from their intensive three-week study seminar at Yad Vashem. HCNZ is proud of our NZ teachers and the work they do, teaching their students; that testimony and experience will inspire and empower these future leaders to stand against prejudice, discrimination and apathy, to promote inclusion and respect diversity. Once graduated teachers become part of our Yad Vashem Alumni. Grads remains connected from this mutual experience and support one another in their Holocaust education across the country through the sharing of ideas and resources. |
