We offer tailored educational and informative programmes for adult groups, community organisations, and professional bodies. These sessions can be delivered on-site at our Wellington Centre, off-site at your preferred location, or online via a virtual presentation.
Available programmes
Our team can deliver sessions on the following core topics:
Judaism and pre-war Jewish life: An exploration of Jewish culture, history, and traditions, which includes a guided tour of the synagogue.
Understanding the Holocaust: A foundational overview of the history, mechanics, and impact of the Holocaust.
Resistance, rebellion, and righteousness: A look at the various forms of Jewish resistance during the Shoah and the actions of the Righteous Among the Nations who risked their lives to save others.
Holocaust media and literature studies: An analysis of how the Holocaust is represented, remembered, and studied through film, books, and historical documentation.
Liberation and migration to New Zealand: The history of the end of the war, the liberation of the camps, and the specific stories of survivors and refugees who journeyed to Aotearoa to rebuild their lives.
If your group has a specific area of interest or a unique curricular focus, our team is happy to discuss customising a session for you.
Please contact our Education Director, Kristopher Clancy, directly at educdirector@holocaustcentre.org.nz to explore your options.
Before you book
To help us prepare for your visit and ensure your session runs smoothly, please take note of a few key operational details before submitting your request.
Hosted group sessions carry a charge of $10.35 ($9.00 + GST) per person, and your booking is formally secured once our team has scheduled and confirmed the date with you.
Because we coordinate our volunteer hosts, educators, and resources well in advance based on your booking numbers, the invoice will reflect the numbers specified on your initial booking form, regardless of whether numbers reduce.
If you need to make any changes to your date or times, please let us know as early as possible so we can check availability. Should you need to cancel, we kindly ask for at least two weeks’ notice to avoid a late cancellation fee.
