In a landmark outcome for Holocaust education and remembrance in Aotearoa New Zealand, learning about the Holocaust will become a part of the Social Sciences curriculum for all Year 10 students from 2027.

Hiring - Fixed term Event Coordinator
19 October 2026 - 1 February 2027
The Holocaust Centre of New Zealand is looking for a highly organised Events Coordinator to provide maternity leave cover from 19 October 2026 to 1 February 2027. The role will oversee the delivery of our Kristallnacht commemorations in Auckland and Wellington in early November and International Holocaust Remembrance Day events at six venues around New Zealand on 27 January.
We are looking for someone with strong event and project coordination skills who can work independently, manage volunteers and stakeholders, and ensure these important commemorations run smoothly. The role averages approximately 10 hours per week, with busier periods around the November and January events. Ideally Wellington-based, although the role could be undertaken remotely.
Applications close 2 October 2026. Applications will be considered as they are received, and we reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date.
